project finance lawyer

Emma Walshe

I am an experienced project finance lawyer specialising in energy and infrastructure projects in emerging markets. I advise on both financing and commercial arrangements for projects.

I trained with Norton Rose Fulbright in London, spending time in both Bahrain and Amsterdam, before qualifying into the Project Finance team.

I have experience across a range of sectors, including power, oil and gas, transport, ports, telecoms and financial institutions, and have worked on transactions in Africa, Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East.

After spending 11 years in the Project Finance Team at Norton Rose Fulbright, I joined the legal team of British International Investment plc (formerly CDC Group plc), the UK’s development finance institution.

Whilst in-house, I advised on project financings from both a lender and equity investor perspective, advising on early-stage deal structuring, bankability analysis, transaction execution and portfolio management. I worked closely with other lenders (DFIs / IFIs and commercial banks), clients of BII and co-investors.

I am ready to offer practical and commercial counsel with a “can do” attitude. I look forward to exploring how my experience can support your business.
